Q: What is Developmentally Appropriate Practice?
A: Our goal is to provide an environment that facilitates the growth and development of all children physically, socially and intellectually. Using information gained from working with parents, students and other staff members determine each child’s level of development, needs, and interests. The teacher then plans an individualized curriculum based on knowledge of child growth and development.

Q: What is a Family Centered approach?
A: Emphasis is placed on the well being of the family and the support mechanisms necessary to achieve that end. The focus becomes one of a partnership between staff and parents to provide an optimal environment which enhances both the child’s and the family’s growth and development. Primary importance is placed on communication. Innovative methods to increase interactions are encouraged such as classroom telephones, personal family visits, e-mail, journaling, and others. The center becomes a community focal point for family activities that provide opportunities for social and resource networking while encouraging development of a variety of family-building skills.

Q: How does a child promote?
A: Promotion is based on a three-fold process: Age, Room availability, and most importantly developmental readiness.

Q: When is tuition due?
A: Every Tuesday.

Q: Are the teachers all certified?
A: We prefer to have a CDA (Child Development Associate) teachers in our Center. A CDA is equivalent to an Associate degree in Child Development.

Q: How is class size determined?
A: We strive to follow National Association for the Education of Young Children's (NAEYC) most current child to staff ratio.

Q: What if my child is ill?
A: We will call and inform you of the situation and ask that you pick up your child. Your child must be symptom free and without medication for 24 hours prior to returning to the Center or have a Doctor note clearing your child's return to group care.

Q: Can we enter the school mid-year?
A: We have open enrollment and will enroll at any time provided there is an opening at the Center.

Q: What if I’m late picking up my child?
A: There is a $1 per minute, per child late fee.
